blame it on *$

it is this blog’s deep and abiding desire that in the pursuit of higher beverages we in no way slander or berate those practitioners of our craft who, through the noble and inerrant american capitalist system, have climbed the ladder of fortune a wee bit faster than we. we would particularly like to avoid blaming such successful behemoths d’espress for taking over the world.

actually, no. we are quite delighted to blame the ubiquity of the starbucks chain for traffic gridlock in washington!

key quote:

“If you see people replacing an in-home activity like brewing your own coffee with an activity that requires a new [car] trip, that’s not exactly the trend we’re looking for,” said Nancy McGuckin, a travel behavior analyst who used U.S. Department of Transportation data to develop her findings.

we like it when traffic behavioral analysts (?!) blame random things on *$. might we offer a solution?
