yes, the gurus have already mentioned this on their multiplicity of redundant synergistic blog-platforms, but this is a doggone good point and some comfort to home junkies worried about “measuring up” to the supposed consistency found in commercial espresso blends and machinery. the gist: an overemphasis on consistency has produced lowest-common-denominator blends and practices that fail to excite the palate or take risks. more backhanded props for hobbyists from chris tacy!
