June 17, 2006 – 2:09 amthis blog doesn’t mean to gloat — ok, it does — but it is about to immerse itself in the sober study of panama’s best.
you might ask this blog why three pounds of coffee is worth $100. easy! the blogwife didn’t say no! in this peerless wasteland, a pursed lip is akin to a hearty mandate. besides, if informed hype is any indicator, this blog will soon be posting digital scans of its pooling drool as it waits for the carmen estate to complete its post-roast rest period.
this blog’s daughter, alas, will be getting naught but a gleaming triple basket for her looming birthday. daddee’s broke, sweetie. but how about some play chaff? wouldn’t that be fun, hmmm?

Wives will turn on you when you least expect it. That you spent $100 on three pounds of green beans is filed away for future use.
I am still waiting for the inevitable backlash for buying two lbs. of the Santa Ines from Artigiano - and buying another four press pots just for serving it.
It won’t happen this week. Or maybe not this year. But I do know I’m going to hear about it, regardless whatever good press and customer relations come of it.
It’s in their DNA.

wow, rich. your wife, at least, puts the shake in my boots. i intend to heartily share the spoils with mine, of course, and expect her to co-revel in the sublimity! we’re cool like that.
then again … didn’t i see your wife recently wading into forum debate? that would seem to be a positive, junkie-ish sign! if you can’t beat them, ask them to join!

Well, she owns 90% to my 10%.
The main reason she joins forums is to make certain I’m not an embarrassment to the shop. But I often can’t help myself.
