shameless aesthetic grovelling …
April 5, 2007 – 11:48 am… in which CI takes a brief but hearty turn as a slobbering fanboy!

truth is, this blog has always been a firmly mediocre latte artist, which, for blogging purposes, necessitated a dramatic foil who was lousier than us! and then we read schomer’s light magazine feature.
tilt the cup farther, he says. start slower. all the things we were doing, basically, but in a more extreme degree. almost overnight, we wuz pouring 22-leafers (as a basic principle, this blog never practices). and thus, we have a cheap, sweeping example of both the self-perpetuating limitations and instantaneous benefits of a media-driven coffee culture!
this blog, we strongly suspect, needs friends.

why, thanks. had to pull the old scramble-for-the-camera-before-the-bubbles-got-too-big move. what does this say about my finished-pour surfactants, james?

Whose ’spro is the brown on that beauty?

it’s home-roasted monkey blend, from sweet maria’s — vastly improved due to a dramatically rejiggered roast profile. makes for some very mottled crema when pulled cool and a wee bit ristretto. post coming on that…
and thank you, sir.
