hoffmann watch, day ten
June 12, 2007 – 10:38 ama vague purpose for the road trip emerges.
[T]he roadtrip isn’t about cups of coffee, or at least certainly not in an evaluative way. It is about people, cafes, ideas and inspiration and having some fun.
mmmmmm-hmmmmmmm.
UPDATE: for bonus points, read the entire dispatch and pull yourself an overdosed triple ristretto every time he uses the jealousy-inducing introductory clause, “From there …”
UPDATE: add to our speculative hoffmann boil of ham, cafes and “having some fun” a strange mexican ingredient…

it’s true.
i admit it.

I am now totally paranoid about my use of “from there”. I am clearly less articulate than I thought!

your first mistake, james, is caring ONE WHIT what i have to say.
but, ah, i’m humbled to have a made a difference. really .. a drinking game based on your blog. i don’t know why i didn’t think of it sooner…
you’re awesome. we only blog about you because we care.
and, of course, we wait with bated breath for you to spill the beans. any chance you’ll be crusing through south carolina? i once promised you a shot guaranteed to taste like stale trombone case — remember?

I’d like to come by some time, see that part of the US and I think Anette probably would as well seeing as she lived in Greenville for a bit.
I find the blogwatch very funny and hope not to disappoint with the reports on Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
And then no reports whilst I sleep it all off…..

whaaa?
your significant other used to live in greenville?! wow.
depending on how long it’s been since she’s been here … this place has changed.

Hi Ben!
I used to live on Cleivervine Avenue over by the zoo, in a blue house with a huge yard and a half circle driveway in front, just across from the ballpark. I loved it. You could hear the lions roaring at night. I miss walking up to Never on a Sunday for the baklava, main street closing on Fridays for the jazz bands, and Barley’s pizza. Greenville has a huge place in my heart.

that’s … that’s unbelievable.
you should see it now — a spectacular suspension bridge across the falls downtown, a baseball stadium near the river, an arts district, lots of trendy food and groovy places to hang. but
no, er, only a single place to get spro.do visit.

Barley’s Pizza . . . excellent place for a draft!
You guys are making me homesick!
Regarding your post . . . do I sense a subtle allusion in your use of the term “overdosed triple ristretto”.

i have nooooo idea what you’re talking about. everybody knows that’s just a crutch anyway…

After reading your “world domination” theories, I thought your comment might be a subtle allusion to the other key players in the equation. After all, they view a triple ristretto as a recommendation for their spro, not a crutch.
