hoffmann watch: day 21
June 23, 2007 – 9:54 amnever again will this blog wrangle with feelings of abashedment while floating hyperventilating conspiracy theories — because, it turns out, exactly half of the blogging, western-european-isle-based, road-tripping barista duo is, in fact, hooking up with the burgeoning intelligentsia juggernaut of global espresso duress! (scroll down to find the news.) you could say the predictions were a bit off … but also non-wrong!
please join this blog in lauding the uncanny prophetic abilities of reader mike “borg” p, and congratulating him on his new promotion: speculative CI pundit in residence.
and now we wait for hoffmann. (the good news: the roadtrip’s over, so he’s back to saying “whilst”!)

cool- now i can just start throwing out wild predictions, like say:
tonx will team up with ritual cofounder jeremy to start up an in-house roasting cafe with table service (think Metropolis meets Elysian room) where all the baristas are on roller skates.
who told you that!
mike: excellent! this blog looks more and more like cable news shows all the time…
steve: no one tells this blog ANYthing. but we do read your blog.
My money was on James landing with Intelly because there was money and a like minded personality there but… then someone left and all things change. I don’t know if Jim7 is still north america bound now, maybe you should just ask him.
What is all the intelly commentary lately anyway? Has CI become a loathsome lacky of the muddy pearl mountain? Surely the murky waters of the fanciful third wave could supply more dubious muck worth racking?
i have asked him. that james, he’s being coy.
muddy pearl mountain? murky waters of the fanciful third wave? shaysh. i don’t think i get it. though there’s no concerted effort to over-concentrate on intelly. it’s just how it falls, lately. this blog is about how coffee intersects with real life, remember.
cheers.
